Module 2 is about the basics of the job. Starting with the definition of translation and then moving to language pair, and CAT tools. You will also learn to establish a working model and a working routine. These are fundamental parts of your job as a translator.

Culture plays a very important role in translation. To be accurate a translation needs to be also culturally fit. In this module, you will learn all aspects of culture and language.
Module 4
Career Path
There are several ways you can become a professional translator. In this module, you will talk about them more broadly as a career path. This will help you define a better strategy taking into consideration skills you might already have or pathways you want to establish for yourself.
Module 5
Tertiary Education
Tertiary Education is one of the career paths you can follow to become a translator. This module will help you find all the benefits of a university degree and how to choose the best one for you. It will also address the option of taking a university degree as a form of specialisation.
Module 6
Diplomas in Translation
You may also choose to take a post-graduate diploma. That is another career path you can follow. This module will explore this option more broadly and will also give you a more comprehensive insight into the two options from the Chartered Institute of Linguists; CertTrans and DipTrans.

Clients are the most important aspect of our work. Without them, we don't have work. So we need to set a strategy to get those clients. In this module, you will learn how to set your ideal client and establish a strategy to get that client.
